C. Elaine Carleton

With nearly three-decades of practical and legal experience in oil and gas, Elaine’s dedication to the industry has made her an expert in her field and one of the most well respected attorneys in the region.

Elaine is originally from Midland, Texas. And after graduating from the University of Texas in 1980, Elaine began her career at ARCO where she spent over a decade establishing her foundation in oil and gas. During her tenure at ARCO, Elaine bore the responsibilities of project coordinator and marketer for the development of gas and crude oil, land administrator, and land manager.

In 1991, Elaine relocated to Denver. While pursuing her law degree at the University of Denver, Elaine continued her focus in oil and gas acquisitions and exploration; working with Apache, Basin Exploration, and Amoco.

After receiving her law degree, Elaine joined John K. H. Akers & Associates, PC in 1996 and in 1998 became managing partner of Akers & Carleton and later established Carleton Law Firm.
